Essential Menu Commands
The following basic commands give you a basic introduction to the
Netscape Toolbar.
Under FILE, the 'New Web Browser' command brings up another browsing window.
This allows multiple downloads to run concurrently.
Exercise
Start off one Net Search on an area of interest to you. Now once it starts searching
go and create another browsing window and search a different topic. Why might
it be useful to be able to do this?
The Go and Autoload Images Buttons
Under the GO pull down menu you will find a list of web pages recently visited,
this gives an opportunity to jump between visited pages without using the
Forward and Back keys.
Under Options, the Autoload Images allow you to remove images from the web pages
this aids the speed of download.
Exercise
Try downloading a web site of your choice with and without the autoload Image
button ticked, do you think it makes a difference in time taken to download?
Under the 'Options' menu the 'General Preferences' command offers various
headings by which you can customise your version of NETSCAPE.
Exercise
Go to General Preferences and make some changes that you think will be
useful to you.
