Initial Directories
Remote Host = the directory where this file is kept in the remote computer eg /pub/systems/pc.
Local PC = the directory you want the file to be downloaded to, eg A:\project\intro
Click on OK
FTP sites consist of directories and subdirectories, and the remote host computer have fairly straight forward ways of clicking into and out of subdirectories on the site.
Before you go straight to the subdirectory that you have be directed to look around at the available files at the various levels of the FTP site, you can often find things of
interest.
When you do find a file you want, make sure the transfer type is set to "bin" for binary transfer, on your client.
Locating where you want the file stored: for WS-FTP users, select the subdirectory on the hard drive of the machine you are currently using, or select the drive letter of the
floppy drive, where the client will store the retrieved file. For FETCH users, you will be
prompted where you want to store the incoming file. Select DESKTOP to go up to
subdirectories or the floppy drive.
